The vmSight Product Suite
VDI Assessment and Profiling
Virtual Desktop (VDI) and Virtual Application Assessment and Profiling vmSight’s integrated product suite provides detailed assessment and profiling of virtual desktops (VDI) and virtual applications to ensure successful rollouts and positive end user experiences. It gives desktop virtualization administrators user and application visibility, along with detailed configuration information. vmSight provides end-to-end VDI profiling across physical and virtual, from terminals, across the network and down to the SAN. vmSight can be used to assess physical environments and design VDI deployments. Patented Connector ID technology provides user tracking for real-time activity profiling. vmSight’s scalable and high-performance architecture supports large enterprise VDI deployments.
This standalone virtual appliance provides a powerful and easy-to-use browser interface, with centralized administration of the vmSight data collection components. Full reporting, alerting, and analysis capabilities are available along with integration to user and VM directory systems. A single vmSight Center manages assessment and profiling of tens of thousands of physical or virtual desktops.
These virtual appliances connect to virtual switches to collect data on user and application activity to and from every virtual desktop. The monitoring stations perform real-time analysis, then send collected data back to the vmSight Center on a configurable time basis.
vmSight’s patented Connector ID technology enables its Connector ID Key software, which fingerprints user IDs and machine IDs on computer connections similar to caller ID for phone networks for end-to-end activity tracking. Easily embedded in thin clients, on physical or virtual desktops, Connector ID Keys provides user and machine information to track and profile VDI network activity. Additionally, Connector ID Keys gather configuration and user experience profiling information from desktops and synchronize back to the vmSight Center on a configurable basis, typically once a day.
